Man Attempts Tattoo World Record By Inking ‘Pump.fun’ on Himself 700 Times

An Australian man is attempting to break the world record for the “most tattoos of the same name,” while livestreaming the journey on Solana meme coin platform Pump.fun. What name is he tattooing on himself? Pump.fun, of course.

The 27-year-old told Decrypt that the world record attempt is part of a broader plan to become a full-time livestreamer with a “virtual tattoo studio.”

Zachary Gollan, also known as Donnie Darko on X, has tattooed “Pump.fun” on his arm 415 times as of Thursday morning, and is aiming to hit 700 during a Saturday livestream. If successful, it would see him overtake the current record holder, per Guinness World Records, who has “Lucy” inked 667 times on his skin. Gollan claims to have applied to be officially considered for the Guinness World Record.

Currently working as a full-time removalist in Sydney, Australia, Gollan wants to become a full-time tattoo content creator and livestreamer—choosing Pump.fun because of its revenue sharing feature. He told Decrypt that in the future he plans to tattoo custom designs on artificial limbs for individuals or projects, before shipping them out as one-of-a-kind pieces.

“[I want to] utilise my skills as a tattoo artist to build a virtual tattoo studio business online,” Gollan said. “A place where I can design and showcase tattoo designs and artworks tailored for the crypto community, where they can use my pieces as advertisements or promotions for their projects.”

Since he launched PUMPINK five days ago, Gollan has been livestreaming for “a few hours” every day while he tattooed himself and chatted with the community. The token peaked at a $412,150 market cap but has dropped nearly 73% to $111,590.

Gollan said he specifically chose to permanently tattoo Pump.fun as it would become an excuse to talk about his project, or at worst, it would lead them to privately searching the launchpad.

“Say I’m in the hospital and I get a blood test, the nurses will see the tattoos, and even if they don’t ask, their curiosity will wonder why I have Pump.fun hundreds of times on my arm,” he said. “Same with if I got arrested, the police will see and ask, or just go home and search. Word will spread quickly about ‘the guy with Pump.fun tattooed all over his arm’ and therefore directing more and more viewers and traffic directly to the platform and my projects channel.”

Gollan told Decrypt that he has a criminal history including alcohol-related violence and carrying weapons in public, from a period of his life when he was part of a biker club—a recognized criminal organization in Australia. He said that he’s “left all that behind years ago,” but it still affects him from time to time.

Australia’s licensing laws prevent individuals from opening tattoo studios if they are a member or associate of a criminal organization, which his old biker group was. The law caused Gollan to quit professional tattooing a “few years back,” after which he worked for a spell as a truck driver and, more recently, a removalist.

“I got into tattooing when I was real young, around year 8 or 9 at high school, I bought a kit off eBay and started tattooing other kids from school to get lunch money for the canteen,” he laughed. “From there, I just got better and better and more and more people wanted me to tattoo them, and then ultimately led me to going into a shop to learn the trade properly.”

He claims to have tattooed 75% of his own body already, excluding his right arm and back due to logistical issues. Gollan shared images of his past work with Decrypt, which expands beyond tattooing the same world 700 times—mostly black and grey realism.

Once Gollan’s world record attempt is complete, along with livestreaming under the PUMPINK token, he told Decrypt he plans to try for another record.

“Once I surpass that world record on Saturday, I will immediately begin working to beat another world record straight away,” Gollan said. “So the streams will continue in the same style, part of my project, and streams are based on setting and breaking tattoo-based world records live on stream to my viewers.”

He said the next record attempt will either be “most hashtags tattooed on the body,” etching #PUMPINK all over his body, or the “most tattoos of the same cartoon character,” most likely from a meme coin or NFT collection.

“I want to try break at least five or six records before the end of the year,” he finished.
