Mysterious $816,524,780 Bitcoin Transfer Stuns Community, Here’s Who’s Behind It

Popular blockchain sleuth Whale Alert, which tracks down large cryptocurrency transfers and then shares the details on its official X handle and its website, has spotted a mammoth Bitcoin transaction. This transfer carried more than $800 million worth of BTC.

On-chain data shared by another source claims that this was a wallet associated with a company that is a global leader in Web3 infrastructure development and investment. Besides, this wallet had stayed inactive for the past two years.

7,499 BTC moved by a dormant whale

Whale Alert revealed that roughly three hours ago, an anonymous whale transferred 7,499 Bitcoins to a new, also anonymous, wallet. That giant transaction was valued at $816,524,780.

The crypto community’s reaction was mixed but overall, X users were excited and mystified. A flow of comments contained various statements and suggestions as to the true nature of this huge transfer, with some suspecting it to be an over-the-counter deal. Some also reacted emotionally, triggered by the size of the transfer: “Holy mother of transactions.” “Whale on the move ! WAGMI!”

Lookonchain published a post about the same anonymous Bitcoin transfer, stating that this wallet is associated with Jump Crypto Group – a major entity that develops Web3 infrastructure and deals with crypto investment. Prior to this mammoth Bitcoin transfer, this wallet had remained dormant for two years.

Samson Mow says, “this time is different”

Vocal Bitcoin proponent Samson Mow, CEO of the JAN3 company, has cited crypto trader and analyst Willy Woo and his prediction about an approaching recession and a bear market. Mow opposed this forecast, stating that for Bitcoin in particular, “this time is different.”

He even then published a separate X post with the same phrase but adding a TM sign to it jestingly to underscore this prediction of his. Mow is a well-known believer that Bitcoin is definitely going to reach a minimum of $1 million per coin in the near future. He then goes further. Supporting Michael Saylor’s prediction of Bitcoin hitting $21 million in 21 years from now, Mow recently tweeted that it would be impossible without Bitcoin adding at least one million of dollars to its price in a single year.

Over the past day, Bitcoin has soared by 3.5%, coming close to the $110,000 level and is currently changing hands at $109,360.
